Holcim Philippines, Inc. recently cemented its commitment to support the program for affordable housing through an agreement entered into with the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA). The company’s commitment to hold its cement prices for one year, provides the opportunity for active and qualified SHDA members to purchase cement from Holcim at below market prices. According to SHDA Chairman, Roy Calleja, “making sure that cement prices remain constant, SHDA members will be able to deliver reasonably priced housing units.”
The signing of the memorandum of agreement was led by Vice President Noli De Castro as Chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Council and participated in by Ian Thackwray, COO of Holcim Philippines. SHDA National President, Eduardo Allunan was pleased with the development considering the increasing prices of building materials.
